New Years Resolutions

Christmas has just passed and with it a fresh pile of cookbooks has landed in my lap from friends and family that know me all too well. I poured over them on Christmas day, picking out recipes I would make for myself and the ones reserved for special dinner parties.

Back at my flat in the new year, adding these titles to the over-full kitchen shelves, I realised that although I love each and every one of these books, I often don't make half of the recipes I plan to before getting distracted by the bright colours and pretty pictures of my next cooking fling.

So as a New Year's resolution, and only partly because I can't afford this spending habit, I'm going to stop buying new recipe books and instead explore through my kitchen's glorious back-catalogue to find the treasures I've missed out on, trying out as many recipes as I can from each book.

I'll then be blogging about each book in turn, so that anyone thinking of spending their money on one of them will know exactly what they're in for. I hope it will be of some use to cook-book addicts like myself.

Now let's get cooking!
